QUESTION: "WHAT DO YOU DO WHEN YOU'VE GONE TOO FAR?"

"Hi Sabrina,

My names Lisa (which you can probably see. I've been following your page and posts. I'm a christian, 25yrs old. There is this guy who has been one of my best friends. And we have feelings for each other but aren't in a relationship yet. And lately we have started kissing. But it's got really out of hand. We haven't had sex and all clothes have stayed on. But the last couple of times that we have been kissing, there has been touching as well. We have both touched each other in places we shouldn't.

I feel so guilty I feel sick. And I feel like I have given away parts of myself that I can't take back. I feel really ashamed and I so regret it. I don't know where the relationship will go, but the physical stuff has definitely made our relationship crap. I know it's not honouring God and I'm just really disappointed in myself. Becuase I know that sex isn't just about the intercourse part, but foreplay and exploring each others bodies. And I feel exposed and like sex wont be as special now, becuase of the stuff we have done. I just really needed to tell someone. Any advice or words from experience are welcome."

ANSWER:

"Gorgeous girl. I've been there. I've pushed the boundaries too far and wish I could go back. Guess what though you can't go back you can only go forward. So let go of the guilt! Remember Gods love for you never changes. But He wants to protect your heart and your body. So embrace His grace and allow Him to influence your choices. It's never a good thing to open up sexually to someone you are not married too because you actually may not be with them and when you call it quits it does feel like a piece of you has been taken away. The biggest thing you need to realise is God knows our weaknesses and our humanity. He actually knows you! So don't beat yourself up (that's what the devil wants). Instead make a decision to put some things in place so you don't go there again. And guess what if you do. God will still always be there with open arms."

"Thankyou so much for your response I really appreciate you taking the time to say all of that!! Virgin Diaries is a really worthwhile cause, so thankyou for taking the time to invest in it"!
